Team Culture at Overford

Work with Overford

At Overford, we have built a team culture that is professional, ambitious and genuinely enjoyable to be part of. We work hard for our clients, but we also want our people to enjoy the journey, feel supported, and be proud of the environment they are helping to create. In this article, we highlight what makes Overford different and what you can expect from working with us.

Something you may notice when you step into an Overford office is that we are not your traditional quantity surveyor. We recognise the importance of professionalism, accuracy and attention to detail, but we do not believe good work depends on formality for formality’s sake. You will not find us stuck in three-piece suits watching the clock. Instead, we focus on creating a relaxed, trusted and supportive environment where people can be themselves, enjoy their work and deliver excellent results for our clients.

We want Overford to be a place where people enjoy coming to work. That means creating space for team days, social events, shared interests, charitable activities and informal moments that help people connect beyond project work. We believe people do their best work when they feel trusted, included and able to enjoy themselves.

Diverse Teams Think Differently

We believe strongly in the fact that a diverse team thinks differently. Diversity of background, culture, education and more, brings diversity of thought and better decision making. You’ll see that reflected across the team; we bring together a genuine mix of backgrounds, experience and perspectives, from M&E surveyors to adjudicators and arbitrators.

Training and development are central to our culture. We support colleagues through structured development routes, including RICS chartership pathways, specialist professional qualifications and Master’s degree programmes. We want younger members of the team to gain the knowledge, confidence and qualifications they need to build long-term careers. RICS membership brings worldwide recognition of a standard of professionalism in the construction sector which remains unrivalled across the globe, and we see further academic study as another important route to deeper expertise.

We also encourage people to develop their own ideas and take an entrepreneurial approach to work. If you have an idea, we will help you shape it, test it and develop it. Our aim is to give every member of the team the opportunity to thrive, build their own professional identity and develop their career in a way that reflects their strengths and ambitions.

Results Both On and Off the Pitch

Finally, whilst we are results driven and focused on helping clients achieve the outcomes they want, we also make time to relax, celebrate and enjoy being part of the team. Whether that means supporting charitable events such as Expertise Rocks, cheering on Warrington Wolves at the rugby, getting out on the bikes, or simply creating opportunities for people to spend time together, we take team spirit as seriously as we take our work.

If you are looking for a firm where you can work on diverse projects around the world, develop your qualifications, contribute ideas and enjoy being part of an ambitious team, we would like to hear from you. We are always interested in speaking to enthusiastic professionals who want to build their careers with us in Sheffield, London or remotely.
