Another brilliant regeneration project with our friends at The Investment Room is drawing to a close.
Portsmouth Mill in Todmorden is a former textile & cotton mill which had fallen into disrepair after its closure some years ago. The site sits on the edge of the Yorkshire market town in the Calder Valley. Alongside the project team and our client, The Investment Room, we’ve been working to create a living space for generations to come.
The mill was originally designed by architect, James Green. The same architect also designed the local landmark, Stoodley Pike along with many other notable buildings in the region. It’s therefore been wonderful to help breathe life back into another solid old building.
As with many regen projects, Portsmouth Mill was not without its challenges, particularly being situated in the ‘wettest part of the UK’! But, working with the project team, phase one’s delivery standard is high. Both the quality of the finished spaces and longevity of the building were of critical importance to the client.
Phase 1 of the regeneration was successfully completed, marking a significant milestone in the project’s delivery. Phase 2 works are due to begin imminently. Though we have not yet been awarded the Phase 2 package, we are currently in discussion regarding our continued involvement.
Congratulations to the entire project team. Our sincere thanks to Jules Jones and The Investment Room team for their support on an outstanding project we’ve been delighted to be a part of.
